The following instructions are for Android Version 2.2 (Froyo), other versions of Android may vary:

  1. Click on the Email button

  2. Type in your full Humnet email address and password and then click Manual setup

  3. Select the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync option

  4. For Server settings, under DomainUsername, enter ad[username] (for some users, this will match with your UCLA LogonID)
    • Enter your password below that
    • Under Server, enter mail.em.ucla.edu
    • Make sure Use secure connection (SSL) and Accept all SSL certificates options are selected



  5. In Account options under Email checking frequency, select Automatic (Push), the other options in this screen will vary according to your preference

  6. Name the account name to something easily recognizable for example "EM"

1. Find Manage Internet Email/ Setup Mail icon on your BlackBerry

2. Under Services click Email Accounts

3. Click Add an Email Account

4. Enter your Email Address and Password, and click Next

5. Select I will provide the settings to add this email account, and click Next.

  • Depending on your provider you might be given an option of I can access my email account using a Web Browser (Outlook® Web Access). if not click next and you will be given that option on the next screen.
  • Select Outlook Web Access click Next

6. Enter the information as indicated by the arrows below:

  • Outlook Web Access URL: https://em.ucla.edu/Exchange.  (Note: In some cases the Outlook Web Access URL is: https://em.ucla.edu/owa)
  • User name: Your UCLA Logon ID
  • Password: Email password
  • Email Address: Your Humnet email address, i.e. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Mailbox name: Your Humnet email address, i.e. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

7. Click Next

8. You have succesfully added the account to your Blackberry. You should now see the mail icon on your blackberry.

Web Services Edition Configuration

SPECIAL NOTE: If you already have an EM Account Configured for Entourage 2008 and need to upgrade to Web Services Edition, please see the section How to Upgrade to Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition.  Entourage Web Services Edition is required for EM Email accounts using Exchange 2010.

Configuring Entourage WSE for the first time (Exchange Protocol)

1.      Launch Entourage

2.      From the Entourage menu click Switch Identity

3.      When prompted, click on Switch

4.      In the Select an identity: window, click on New...

5.      Under Identity name: type EM and click OK

6.      Close the Entourage Setup Assistant window that appears after creating the new identity

7.      From the Entourage menu click Account Settings:

8.      Click New to create a new account.

9.      Under the Account type: drop down list, select Exchange and click OK

a.       If you are in the Account Setup Assistant window, click the Configure account manually button:  

10.  In the Edit Account window, click the Account Settings tab and enter your user-information.

  • Account name: EM
  • Name: First and Last Name
  • Email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Account ID: Your UCLA Logon ID
  • Domain: ad
  • Password: Humnet password
  • (Optional) Check the Save Password in My Mac Keychain so you will not be prompted to input your password again

11.  Next, click the Advanced tab and enter the following information, as shown in the window below:

  • In the Exchange Server field, enter: mail.em.ucla.edu
  • Check the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) box.
  • In the LDAP server field, type: ad1.ad.ucla.edu
  • Check the This server requires me to log on box

12.  Click OK when you are done to finish setting up your account.

 

How to Upgrade to Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition

In order to use an EM Email account running on Exchange Server 2010, it is required to upgrade Entourage 2008 to the Web Services Edition. The upgrade is free and can be downloaded at this link:  Microsoft Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition. If you need help with installation, please contact your DTA for assistance.  (Note: Entourage 2008 must already be installed and updated to 12.3.3 before installing the upgrade.)

Installing the Upgrade

1.  In Mac OS X, download the upgrade at the link above.

2.  Open the .dmg image file by double clicking on it in the Downloads folder or at the download location.  The file may open on its own.

3.  Follow the on-screen instructions to install the upgrade (make sure Entourage is closed before installation).

4.  Open Entourage, then Import your Email Identity from Entourage 2008.   Entourage may automatically prompt to Import the Identity.

Importing the Identity

1.  If not automatically prompted, go to the File menu and select Import... (After each of the next few steps, select the right arrow to continue)

 

2.  Choose Entourage information from an archive or earlier version.

3. Select Entourage 2008 under What would you like to import?

4.  Under Import Items, ensure all items are checked.

5.   Lastly, under Select an Identity, choose the profile used previously in Entourage 2008.  In most cases the profile will be labeled "EM" or "Main Identity."

It will take a few short moments for the Identity to import into Entourage.  All settings, contacts, and emails will be restored to function just like they did before the upgrade.

Note: A prompt may ask to store Keychain Information.   When prompted, select Always Allow.

Exchange ActiveSync Configuration for iPhone/iPad

How do I configure my iPhone/iPad for EM?

Exchange ActiveSync Configuration for your iPhone/iPad

  1. Go to your Settings and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  2. Select Add Account
  3. Then select Microsoft Exchange

 

  1. Enter the specified information then tap Next
    • Email: Enter your primary EM SMTP address (aka., the Reply-To address is also the address that your recipients see at the top of your email messages.) An example would be This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
    • Domain: Enter ad.
    • Username: Enter your EM username.
    • Password: Enter your EM password.
    • Description: Automatically enters your email address.
  2. Enter mail.em.ucla.edu in the Server field then tap Next *note: If on Exchange Server 2007 you would need to put em.ucla.edu
  3. Make sure you have Mail, Contacts and Calendars set to ON, then tap Done.

At this time, you may select specific email folders to synchronize automatically. Folders not chosen will synchronize only when they are opened.

  1. Select your email account
  2. Select Mail Folders to Push.

 

Entourage 2008 Configuration (IMAP)

1.       Launch Entourage

2.       From the Entourage menu click Account Settings…

3.       The Accounts window will appear, click the New icon and OK

4.      In the Edit Account window, click the Account Settings tab and enter your user-information.

a. Account name: (any name that would help you identify this account)
b. Name:  First Last
c. Email address:  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
d. Account ID:  ad/(UCLA Logon ID)/(Humnet ID)
e. IMAP Server:  mail.em.ucla.edu [not shown in screen capture]
f. Password:  Enter your Humnet password
g. (Optional) Check the Save Password in My Mac Keychain so you will not be prompted to input your password again
h. SMTP Server:  mail.ucla.edu

5.      Click the Click here for advanced receiving options button in the Account Settings window above.

6.      Check the IMAP service requires a secure connection (SSL): option.

7.       Click the Click here for advanced sending options button in the Account Settings window above:

a. Check the SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL) box
b. Check the SMTP server requires authentication box
b-1.  VERIZON Users: Verizon blocks port 25 in order to protect from SPAM.  If you use Verizon DSL or FIOS, please check Override Default SMTP port, and enter in port 587 instead of 25.
c. Check the Log on using option
d. In the Account ID & Password fields, enter your UCLA Logon ID (formerly known as BOL ID) and password.

e. Check the Save password in my Mac OS keychain box so you will not be prompted to enter your password again.

8.      Click OK to finish.

 

Sub-Folders in Entourage

If you use subfolders on your EM Email Inbox, these sub folders may not appear initially after set-up.  To reveal these folders, select the Account Name, EM (IMAP) in the example above, then subscribe to the desired sub-folder by going to Edit, Subscribe.

In addition, sub-folders can be subscribed by Holding the Control button, selecting the Subfolder, and choosing Subscribe from the context menu, as shown below.
